What is University Science High School?

University Science High School (USHS) is one of laboratory school in Central Luzon State University, alongside with Agricultural Science and Technology School. It’s not included in the Philippine Science High School System and is under College of Education of Central Luzon State University. This school offers education for Junior High School students (7th until 10th grade) and Senior High School students (11th and 12th grade).

Students who want to enter in USHS must pass a comprehensive entrance exam. The top 60 qualifiers among an annual average of 400 applicants are selected. An additional ten slots are reserved for admission of the faculty/staff’s children. After being accepted as a student in USHS, they have to maintain their score above the minimum score limit.

However, students in USHS will get commensurate facilities. Due to the small number of students, the teacher can get to know more deeply about their students. The teacher’s teaching is also easy to understand and fun, they teach passionately. They will also get facilities like full AC classroom, basketball court, library, science laboratory, computer laboratory, and many more. The best part is they don’t have to spend money for institution fee because it’s a government school.
